Why refrigerants are changing
Under the AIM Act and EPA rules, the industry is moving toward lower global-warming-potential refrigerants. Homeowners will see new equipment model lines and service practices evolve over time.
What does not change
Section 608 still requires certified technicians for work that can release refrigerants. Mixing refrigerants, DIY cans, and uncertified top-offs remain poor practice and can violate federal rules.
Ask on any brand quote
