How to Use the AHRI Directory on Your Next Quote

AHRI’s public Directory of Certified Product Performance lets you verify SEER2/HSPF2 claims for a specific outdoor and indoor match—Carrier, Lennox, Trane, or any other certified line.

What AHRI certifies

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) publishes certified performance data for matched equipment combinations. For split systems, efficiency claims apply to the certified outdoor + indoor pair—not a condenser model number alone.

What to ask your contractor

Request the AHRI Reference Number or Certificate of Certified Product Performance for the exact combination on the proposal. You can also search ahridirectory.org. This is brand-agnostic: it applies equally to Carrier, Lennox, Trane, and other certified products.

Pair certification with design

AHRI proves the laboratory rating of a match. ACCA Manual J/S/D practices still determine whether that equipment is the right size and whether ducts can deliver the airflow. The Cooling Experts walks homeowners through both sides of that conversation.
